The number of reported sexual offenceslinked to dating apps doubled between 2017 and 2020, a BBC Three investigation has found.

The Freedom of Information requests, which 27 out of 45 police forces in the UK responded to, also revealed that more than 6,000 people reported crimes linked to online dating platforms between this time period.

This comes as data from the National Crime Agency (NCA) reveals an increase in the number of female victims of online dating-related sexual assaults aged 19 and under.
